A New Day

I was sick all day Sunday. Why can't I be sick on a week day and miss work, instead of missing a day on the weekend? Seriously?! Oh well. No workout Sunday. We did try and eat well though (except for that ice cream I earned by being sick. :) )

Today though is a new day. Its easy to become discouraged with an exercise regimine if you don't remind yourself that "everyday is a new day." This is so important. I missed two days of exercise, which I could get discouragd about, but instead you get back up and finish what you started.

400 calories burned today. Sweat. So gross, but so great. It lets me know I've pushed myself.

Fail

I didn't work out today. Fail. Josh and I split a sandwich at Red Robin. Success. I ate lots of fries. Accepted fail. I ate ice cream. You have to indulge sometimes.

Today = not a great success.

But tomorrow is a new day. I want to run! Hopefully I can get a great burn in.

Burn

Last night as I left for the gym Josh challenged me to have a hard workout. So I did. Instead of burning 150 on the treadmill, I pushed myself to 200, which turned into 218 after my cool down. I do interval running. 15 minutes on the bike (level 6 is as high as I can go at this point) gave me 107 and 3 miles. The treadmaster was free so I cut that workout short, and hopped on the treadmaster for 30 minutes, burning 375 calories by doing intervals of 3 minutes maximum treadles, 3 minutes medium treadles. 375-awesome. I only had to wait about 3 minutes for a bike to be free again, and hopped on that for 20 minutes at level six. I usually only do thirty minutes on the bike, but I wanted to push myself to 35 today. That 20 minutes got me 5 miles and 152 calories.

Total burn: 852 ...Awesome

I won't always be this detailed of my workout, but I was especially psyched about last night's.

City Market Saturdays

I'm changing my life.

And dragging my husband along with me.

One of the first big changes we made was getting up on Saturday mornings (ok, once, two weeks ago) to go to the city market for our weekly produce. It was rough, I had to force myself! But I love the city market. I love all the fresh foods. I even sort of love all the crowds.

We got: asparagus, spinach, strawberries, peaches, broccoli, lettuce, tomatoes, avacados, and I can't even remember what else. It was so great!
